We are seeking an experienced Dock Builder / Construction Laborer to join our team. Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Dock Builder to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining docks and related infrastructure with precision and safety in mind. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, road construction, and civil infrastructure will be essential to delivering high-quality projects on time and within safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors on diverse construction projects, contributing to the development of essential waterfront and civil infrastructure. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on dock, marine construction, pile driving, or waterfront construction experience who takes pride in quality work, safety, and being part of a strong team. Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to: Construct and repair docks, piers, bulkheads, and other waterfront structures. Move, handle, and install heavy construction materials including timber, concrete, and steel. Operate power tools, hand tools, and construction equipment as authorized. Assist with worksite preparation on land, over water, and from barges or marine structures. Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are prepared and available for daily operations. Read and follow construction drawings, plans, and blueprints. Inspect and maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition. Work effectively with Foremen, Superintendents, equipment operators, and other crew members. Follow all company and jobsite safety requirements. Perform work as directed by the site supervisor. Participate in jobsite and company safety meetings. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Qualifications Minimum 5 years preferred of dock building, marine construction, or closely related construction experience preferred. Valid driver's license. Reliable transportation to and from work. Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Savannah, Georgia, or be willing to relocate. Ability to work the standard construction schedule:
Monday-Thursday:
7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Friday:
7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Must be available for overtime and schedule changes when project needs require. Must successfully complete required pre-employment screening, including physical, drug screening, and background check. Must comply with the company's drug-free workplace and random testing requirements. Physical Requirements This is a physically demanding marine construction position. Employees may frequently be required to: Stand and walk for extended periods. Push, pull, bend, climb, kneel, crawl, and stoop. Work outdoors and around marine environments. Work from docks, barges, vessels, and structures over or adjacent to water. Lift and carry tools, materials, supplies, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted .
