Job Description
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician I performs skilled and technical work under the general supervision of the Maintenance/Fleet Coordinator. Also plans and participates in building and grounds maintenance and repair activities.Key Responsibilities:
Reviews work orders with supervisor for full understanding; makes recommendations on course of action. Ensures the weekly turn-in of receipts, completed requisitions, etc. Ensures truck is cleaned on a monthly basis. Performs routine maintenance and repairs to assigned buildings and grounds Performs/troubleshoots HVAC, refrigeration, electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair as needed Delivers and assembles office furniture and equipment as needed. Evaluates situations to determine best/cost effective course of action Requests purchases for the department of materials, supplies, equipment and parts necessary to accomplish duties Collaborates with Maintenance/Fleet Coordinator; Health and Safety Coordinator, as needed Attends staff meetings as scheduled; participates in regular safety trainings Performs other tasks as required Job Skills- Must do: Ability to prepare estimates and order materials for repair jobs Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees Job Knowledge
Must Know:
Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of buildings and related structures Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work Working knowledge of general construction, electrical and plumbing systems Ability to communicate orally and in writing Attitudes, Attributes, and Aptitudes- Must be aware of: Must uphold agency personnel policies and financial procedures Sensitivity to target population Ability to work with others Maintain full communication with supervisor; follow chain of command.
