Operations Basic Function The position of Water Quality Technician is responsible for the overall cleanliness of pools. They oversee and make adjustments to chemical and filtration equipment. Their job may include general maintenance as well to maintain the facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Willingness to accept the most effective role. Removal of trash and debris from the pools. Backwash pool pumps and filters. Add chemicals to pools in a safe manner. Ability to check pool chemical levels and water levels. Operate a water vacuum. Maintains a schedule of maintenance performed. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. Maintain a regular maintenance schedule. Work independently and be self-motivated. Maintain an environment that keeps safety the number one concern for all guests, visitors and employees. Greet guests, visitors and employees in a friendly and courteous manner. Provide excellent customer service. Ensure professional development to enhance work knowledge, skills and abilities. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules, regulations, standards, guidelines, expectations and requirements. Ensure completion of work responsibilities and special projects in accordance with the designated timeframe, as determined by the reporting leader. Adhere to company ethical requirements, demonstrating the utmost integrity in all professional and personal matters. Provide reporting leader with feedback, ideas and suggestions on a timely consistent basis. Completes other duties and tasks as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND SKILLS
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent is required. College degree preferred.
Experience:
Preferred:
1 year in water park operations or work related field.
Certification/Licensure:
Must be able to obtain CPO certification within 6 months of hire.
Working Conditions:
Must be well organized and flexible to meet time, priority and workload demands Must be able to work independently Ability to troubleshoot situations without delay and act accordingly Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, evolving environment Must be able to work varied shifts; including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Special Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication skills Positive and effective customer service skills Teamwork orientation Accuracy, thoroughness and self-monitoring to ensure quality work Proficient in safe operation of water vacuum Motivated self-starter Must be a minimum of 18 years old Physical Demands of the

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and read, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, push, pull, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
