Job Description
Maintenance Technician - Hawarden, IA - Hawarden, IA Seaboard Foods $2 dental insurance, company vehicle United States, Iowa, Hawarden 1804 500th Street (Show on map) Sep 09, 2026 JOB PURPOSE Assist in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings by performing the following duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect, for the following but not limited to automated feed systems, fresh water wystems, recycle systems, cool cells, ventilation, controllers, and penning for animal production facilities sites to ensure operations run efficiently and effectively. Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices. Follow work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment require replacement, repair or maintenance. Welding of buildings equipment including load out chutes, and fabrications of some penning or gating. Must be on call available for emergency situations.
PAY RATE
We offer a competitive pay rate based on your skills and experience related to this position. Our starting compensation for this position in Northwest, IA is $20.50/hr. Benefits Company Vehicle is provided for this position PTO available after 60 days of employment Holidays available after 90 days of employment Medical, Vision & Dental insurance available after 90 days of employment Relocation assistance depending on the location and role
REQUIREMENTS
Two-year technical degree or greater, High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months experience or training; or combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Must possess a current valid driver's license, acceptable MVR, and ability to pass DOT physical and obtain medical card.
