Temporary Maintenance Technician Arlington Heights, IL Preference will be given to candidates located within approximately 25 minutes of the property due to scheduling and operational needs.
Street Parking Available Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Must have weekend availability)
Pay Rate COE:
$24.00 PH Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with daily maintenance operations throughout all four condominium buildings. Move garbage containers from the trash chute area to designated collection locations and return containers back to the chute areas three (3) times per week for all four buildings. Perform general painting, drywall repair, patching, sanding, and touch-up work throughout the property. Replace and repair light fixtures, bulbs, switches, outlets, and other minor electrical components as assigned. Complete minor plumbing repairs including unclogging drains, replacing fixtures, and addressing leaks when applicable. Assist with routine preventative maintenance and inspections of common areas, equipment, and building systems. Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance shops, storage rooms, trash areas, and common areas. Perform regular cleaning of designated areas as assigned. Respond to maintenance service requests in a timely and professional manner. Assist with apartment/condominium turnover preparation when needed. Report safety hazards, maintenance concerns, and supply needs to management. Safely operate maintenance tools, equipment, carts, ladders, and other property-related equipment. Assist during emergencies, inclement weather conditions, or other property operational needs. Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and OSHA guidelines. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Previous maintenance, janitorial, handyman, or building maintenance experience preferred. Basic knowledge of painting, drywall repair, light electrical work, and general building maintenance. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment. Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments efficiently. Reliable attendance and punctuality required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb stairs, and work in varying weather conditions for extended periods. Ability to move trash containers and maintenance equipment throughout the property. Ability to work indoors and outdoors as required. Schedule Temporary position with schedule and duration determined by management based on operational needs. Work Environment This position operates throughout a residential condominium community consisting of four buildings and may require work in mechanical rooms, common areas, exterior grounds, stairwells, garages, and occupied residential areas.
