This position is a long-term growth opportunity for an ambitious, career-minded Equipment Maintenance Technician interested in a career with a major manufacturer of consumer products.
Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician must be fully capable of facilities maintenance and be skilled in related trades such as sheet metal work, welding, carpentry, electrical systems, plumbing, and basic HVAC. This employee must be extremely versatile and capable of working with minimum supervision. In addition, he or she may lead other maintenance technicians to complete complex tasks. Responsibilities:
The following duties are considered essential to this position. Other responsibilities may be assigned. Read blueprints and plan projects to complete assigned tasks. Plan and perform carpentry jobs in the facility. This will include using hand tools such as hammers, saws, and a variety of power tools. Plan and perform masonry repairs. This will include repairing wall damage, removing nonstructural walls, and installing nonstructural walls. Plan and build framework for structures. Install sub-floor and finished floor according to specification. Install interior trim and hardware as required. This may include kick plates and locks. Plan and perform metal working jobs. This will include using a metal shear, brake press, and rivet gun. Basic welding may be required. Finish surfaces by trimming, filing, grinding, buffing, and painting. Paint machinery and surfaces. This includes laying drop cloths, removing switch plates, taping trim, and preparing the surface according to manufacturer's specifications. Install and repair plumbing. This includes installing fixtures, fitting pipes, joining pipes, unclogging drains, and fixing leaks. Perform basic repairs to the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This may include replacing blowers, installing ducts, cleaning ducts, replacing filters, and resetting switches. Perform electrical repairs and installation and troubleshoot electrical problems. This includes running conduit, pulling new wiring circuits, installing related electrical components, moving equipment, and re-installing. Mix and pour concrete. Drill and remove concrete. Assist with the training and development of less experienced Maintenance Technicians. Trained in LOTO and High Voltage Stay informed of new technology, methods, and materials within the field. Support and comply with all Suncast safety policies, quality standards, and housekeeping methods always. This includes LOTO and arc flash policies. Suncast policies have been developed to ensure compliance with employee law. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no direct supervisory responsibility, but this employee must possess leadership qualities that are evident when training less knowledgeable employees. Qualifications:

Technical training or experience in trades such as carpentry, sheet metal work, welding, or plumbing desired. A high school diploma is a strong plus. Ability to speak clearly with coworkers and supervisors. Bilingual a plus. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to learn to use basic Microsoft computer programs. Physical Demands:

He or she will be required to work 25 feet in the air on scaffolding or high lifts. He or she will occasionally work in confined areas. Vision ability requirements for this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. This is a full-time position. Due to fluctuations in production schedules, this employee may be required to work additional hours to meet additional demands. Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be in a manufacturing facility. This will have seasonal variations in temperature and humidity, most notably in summer. Noise level is moderate for an injection molding facility. This employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Safety procedures must be followed to avoid the risk of electrical shock. Safety equipment will be worn regularly. The Anticipated Pay Range for This Position:
