About the Role Reporting to the Factory Manager, you will install, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on machinery that incorporates mechanical, electrical, conveyor, and pneumatic systems. Equipment includes compressed air, wire drawing, paper clip forming, gearboxes, automatic boxing, panel saw, dust collector, heat/shrink wrap, conveyors, and clipboard assembly equipment. You'll work at our Bolingbrook, IL location supporting a factory staff of 15 to 20 people — an organization small enough for you to stand out and make a difference. Your journey will start with the creation of a new factory using relocated equipment, so you'll have a real hand in building something from the ground up. A four-day work week (Mon-Thu) for a built-in three-day weekend. Four 10-hour days per week.
What You Will Do Installation & Setup :
Install new equipment, ensuring proper configuration and integration with existing systems — including mechanical assembly, electrical connections, and pneumatic setup.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics :
Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform root cause analysis, using your knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles to identify and resolve issues.
Repair & Maintenance :
Perform breakdown repairs, preventative and predictive maintenance on all production equipment, utilities, and building/grounds — from basic component replacement to complex system overhauls.
Controls & Drives :
Troubleshoot Programmable Logic Control (PLC) and AC/DC drive systems, and upload programs to controls in the event of program loss or CPU replacement.
Electrical & Mechanical :
Install and repair electrical devices throughout the plant; disassemble defective electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, replace worn parts, and reassemble. Fabricate and install piping, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment as required.
Shop Work :
Use machining and shop equipment (lathes, drills, milling machines, etc.) as required, and read/interpret measuring devices, gauges, and inspection tools.
Quality & Continuous Improvement :
Check product quality against standards, monitor processes, and suggest ways to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety.
Inventory & Documentation :
Maintain parts and supplies inventory, assign parts to the proper work order, report low stock, and keep accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance.
Safety & Compliance :
Follow all Lock Out/Tag Out rules and adhere to OSHA and Victor Technology safety standards. Keep a clean, sanitary, and safe work area, including the maintenance shop. What You Bring High School Diploma or equivalent required. 3 years of experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, OR a 2-year Technical Degree in a maintenance field (Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance, or related) plus 1 year of experience. Hands-on experience in electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulics, including diagnostic troubleshooting, repairing/replacing defective parts, and adjusting machinery to operating specifications. Experience troubleshooting electrical components such as 240-480V motors, wiring, switches, sensors, AC/DC circuits, and photoelectric sensors. Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting. Basic working knowledge of machine tools: drill presses, welders, grinders. Willing to travel out of state for up to the first 6 weeks for initial training (home on weekends). No travel expected after the training period. Able to read and write in English, perform basic math, take coaching well, and promote a positive teamwork culture. Nice To Have Certified forklift operator. Experience with machine rigging, moving, and installation. Fluency in English & Spanish. Why Join Us?
