Maintenance Technician

Quanex is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team located in Chatsworth, IL . The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment, including motors, pneumatics, conveyor systems and other production machines and equipment. The schedule for this position can be Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday 3:00pm

• 11:00 pm, or Sunday
• Thursday 11:00 pm
• 7:00 am.

What Success Looks Like:

Repairs and reconditions hydraulic/pneumatic systems (airlines, solenoids). Maintains, repairs, and modifies injection molding machines, vacuum systems, granulator, augers/mixers, Replaces and repairs electrical equipment/components. Repairs and maintains material. Fabricates and welds parts for repairs, retrofits and Installs plumbing, air and electrical utilities necessary for machine Ensures machine properly functions (voltage, proper operation). Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective Examines form and texture of parts to detect Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional Adjusts functional parts of devices and control Repairs or replaces defective Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts. Starts devices to test their performance. Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair Support facility maintenance

What You Bring:

3+ years of experience Intermediate level of experience with and knowledge of electrical and mechanical applications Intermediate experience with the use of a variety of hand and mechanical tools for equipment repair The hourly wage for this position is starting at $23.50/hr depending on experience plus shift differential based on ($.50/hr-2nd shift or $1.00/hr-3rd shift).
