As a Maintenance Technician, you'll play a crucial role in creating a well-maintained and welcoming community for our residents. Your expertise and dedication will enhance the property's value while ensuring a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable living experience for everyone. This full-time, non-exempt position reports directly to the Property Manager.
Where You'll Work:
Welcome to The Monarch, a luxury apartment community in Des Plaines, IL. Our community offers studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom options that redefine modern comfort. Enjoy seamless connectivity with easy access to I-294 and I-90 while being close in proximity to O'Hare International Airport and Chicago Executive Airport. Explore nearby attractions like the Allstate Arena, Rosemont Entertainment District, Rivers Casino, and Golf Mill Shopping Center. The Des Plaines River Trail is right at your doorstep for outdoor enthusiasts. Inside the apartment, our residents will find wood-style plank floors, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a NEST thermostat. Enjoy the luxury of walk-in closets with custom-built shelving, a full-size washer and dryer, and master bath's heated tile floor and 19-inch TV mirror.
What You'll Own:
Daily maintenance of grounds and curb appeal. Perform daily grounds routine to maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the property. As well as enhance curb appeal through landscaping and exterior upkeep. Ensure timely and thorough completion of all resident service requests, including after-hours and emergency needs. You will participate in an on-call rotation with the rest of the maintenance team. Execute unit turnovers and make-readies for new residents to meet move-in deadlines with high-quality standards. Proactively maintain the exterior and common areas of the community, including grounds, breezeways, and shared spaces, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment. Perform swimming pool maintenance and ensure compliance with applicable health and safety standards, where applicable. Identify and address maintenance issues proactively to minimize disruptions and improve property efficiency. Consistently adhere to OSHA standards and company safety policies. Promptly report any hazards or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel. Utilize property resources, tools, and supplies efficiently and safely, ensuring proper care, maintenance, and inventory of equipment. Work closely with the maintenance team and other departments to meet property goals and foster a culture of teamwork and support. Maintain the required uniform and ensure a professional and approachable appearance at all times. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.
What You'll Bring:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Basic English communication skills to follow instructions and interact with residents and team members. Bilingual in Kyrgyz or Spanish a plus! Previous general maintenance experience, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliances, strongly preferred. Experience with Magic Pak HVAC systems a plus. EPA Certification (Type I and II) required or willing to obtain within 6 months. Basic computer skills, including the ability to use mobile maintenance management software and email systems. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively with residents and team members. Ability to frequently walk and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to lift/move loads up to 50 lbs. and use a ladder. Must live within 30 miles of the assigned property and have reliable transportation to participate in a shared 50% on-call schedule.
