This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving a wide range of building systems and equipment across multiple locations within approximately two hours of Downers Grove, IL. A company box truck will be provided. The ideal candidate enjoys independent field work, takes pride in maintaining safe and functional environments, and has a strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and grow. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment supporting theatre operations, guest experiences, and maintenance processes. Responsibilities Complete maintenance work orders, including but not limited to: Troubleshoot plumbing issues and complete repairs Perform carpentry and general building maintenance Complete tile and flooring repairs Perform parking lot and exterior maintenance Repair and maintain concession equipment Troubleshoot electrical systems using schematics, meters, and diagnostic tools Perform wiring, circuit testing, and component replacement as needed Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal facility operation. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues effectively. Drive and operate a company box truck between locations; truck may be taken home or stored at an approved nearby location. Work independently on most daily assignments while collaborating with maintenance teams, contractors, theatre managers, and supervisors on select projects. Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, and work orders using CMMS software. Coordinate effectively with the construction superintendent, maintenance supervisor, theatre managers, subcontractors, office staff, vendors, and guests. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls, including evening and rotating weekend on-call responsibilities. Promote and maintain a strong culture of safety awareness and regulatory compliance across all facilities. Provide excellent customer service and support to internal teams and guests while maintaining clean, safe, and fully operational environments. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance, construction trades, manufacturing maintenance, or related fields. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, and general building maintenance. Experience troubleshooting building systems and using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and electrical testing equipment preferred. Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, CMMS systems, and preventative maintenance programs. Experience working in commercial, entertainment, industrial, or manufacturing environments preferred. Leadership or supervisory experience within maintenance operations is a plus. Welding and PLC experience are a plus, but not required. Must possess excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond effectively to operational needs. Clean driving record and valid driver's license required. Must be able to obtain and maintain an Illinois DOT card. Must be at least 18 years of age. Basic personal tools required; additional tools and equipment will be provided. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Full-time position with regular Monday-Friday attendance, evening and rotating weekend emergency on-call responsibilities. Typical work hours occur during non-operating hours, generally early mornings through mid-afternoons. (5am/6am start) Minimum of 40 hours per week with overtime opportunities available. Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting, standing, and physical activity required. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Travel between multiple locations throughout the Chicagoland area is required.
