Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to perform mechanical and electrical repairs on high-speed packaging machinery, including printing presses, die-cutting, flexogluing, and packaging equipment. Your role will also involve electro/mechanical troubleshooting, utilizing blueprints, diagrams, and schematics for troubleshooting, and using hand and power tools like volt meters and electrical testing tools. Responsibilities Conduct mechanical and electrical repairs on high-speed packaging machinery. Utilize blueprints, diagrams, and schematics for troubleshooting. Use hand and power tools, including volt meters and electrical testing tools, for repairs. Perform general building maintenance as necessary Complete preventative maintenance including oiling, lubricating, and greasing components Essential Skills 5+ years of mechanical maintenance on manufacturing equipment. Proficiency in preventative / reactive maintenance Ability to read blueprints and troubleshoot to root cause. Experience with troubleshooting, repair, motors, pneumatics, blueprints, hydraulics, schematics, PLCs, electrical panels, VFDs, and printing presses. Additional Skills & Qualifications Trade schooling is preferred. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a facility featuring state-of-the-art machinery and a clean, organized layout with ample open space. Available openings include first-shift schedules from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with substantial required overtime before and after the scheduled shift and frequent Saturday work, especially as production scales up. The maintenance team works hands-on with high-speed corrugating machinery, printing presses, die cutters, flexogluing equipment, and related systems, using hand and power tools, volt meters, and other diagnostic equipment. Personal protective equipment is provided, and team members must be comfortable wearing a hard hat and safety vest while on the production floor. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and continuous improvement as the operation grows over time. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Elgin, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $33.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
