Overview Join our dynamic facilities team as a Facilities Maintenance Technician, where your expertise will keep our buildings safe, functional, and efficient! In this vital role, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of facilities equipment and systems, ensuring smooth operations across our properties. Your hands-on skills and proactive approach will help create a comfortable, safe environment for all occupants and visitors. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, and building interior components to ensure optimal operation. Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and tools such as ohmmeters to diagnose faults accurately. Conduct welding, carpentry, painting, and other mechanical repairs to maintain the integrity of facilities structures and fixtures. Maintain facilities equipment including hand tools, electrical equipment, plumbing fixtures, and HVAC units with precision and care. Read and interpret schematics for electrical wiring, HVAC systems, and mechanical layouts to facilitate effective repairs and upgrades. Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation troubleshooting when applicable. Lead small maintenance projects or assist with larger tasks while adhering to safety protocols; support team members with technical guidance when needed. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts used, and inspections completed to ensure compliance with operational standards. Support building interior maintenance tasks such as painting (including residential painting), carpentry repairs, and general upkeep to enhance the facility's appearance. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or tenants with a customer service-oriented approach that emphasizes clear communication and problem-solving skills. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in facilities equipment maintenance including HVAC systems repair and plumbing system upkeep. Proficiency in electrical work with the ability to troubleshoot using schematics and tools like ohmmeters. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation troubleshooting. Skilled in welding, carpentry (including residential painting), maintenance painting, and general building interior repairs. Knowledge of maintenance, repair & operations (MRO) practices to ensure efficient facility functioning. Ability to read technical schematics accurately for electrical systems, HVAC units, plumbing layouts, and mechanical diagrams. Experience with plumbing system maintenance and repair including leak detection and fixture replacement. Competence in using hand tools safely for various repair tasks across multiple trades. Excellent customer service skills with a proactive attitude toward responding to maintenance needs quickly and effectively. Leadership qualities that support team collaboration while managing multiple priorities efficiently. Fluency in English for clear communication within diverse teams; familiarity with safety protocols related to electrical work, HVAC systems, plumbing, welding, and building maintenance.
