About the Position DC Garage Door & Services, Inc. is a growing, family-owned garage door company based in Lombard, Illinois. We are looking for an experienced Garage Door Installer & Service Technician who knows the trade, takes pride in their workmanship, and wants the opportunity to build a long-term career with a company that is continuing to grow. This is not an entry-level position. A minimum of 3 years of professional garage door installation and service/repair experience is required. The right person should be comfortable working independently in the field and confidently diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and installing residential and light commercial garage door and opener systems. What You'll Be Doing Install residential and light commercial garage doors Install garage door opener systems Diagnose garage door and opener problems Perform garage door and opener repairs Replace springs, cables, rollers, hinges, bearings and other door components Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections Identify worn, damaged or unsafe components Clearly explain findings and recommended repairs to customers Complete job documentation, photos and service notes Maintain a clean and professional work area Properly care for company vehicles, tools and equipment Provide professional, respectful customer service What We're Looking For Minimum 3 years of professional garage door installation and service/repair experience Strong understanding of residential garage door systems Garage door opener installation and troubleshooting experience Ability to diagnose problems rather than simply replace parts Ability to safely perform spring, cable and hardware repairs Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field Strong attention to detail Professional communication skills Dependable and punctual Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to perform the physical requirements of garage door installation and service work Experience with residential and light commercial garage door systems, LiftMaster, Genie, Clopay and other major industry brands is a plus.
