Role Overview & Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Technician III performs or oversees all facility and equipment maintenance, repair, installation, and removal.
Core responsibilities include:
Equipment & Facility Maintenance Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment such as: SMETCO systems, Palamatic, forklifts, yard trucks, compressors, electric motors, pneumatic/vacuum systems, hydraulic systems, HVAC, lighting, and facility infrastructure Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic breakdowns in production machinery Install and remove machinery as required Perform building, grounds, and structural repairs as needed Safety, Compliance & Documentation Maintain accurate logs for all machinery, equipment inspections, repairs, and forklift maintenance Ensure all forklift drivers are certified and certifications remain current Ensure maintenance documentation, logs, and safety records are complete and accurate Enforce adherence to OSHA regulations and all company safety/environmental policies Technical Support & Inventory Management Maintain inventory of spare parts, components, and critical supplies Coordinate vendor services, repairs, and equipment support Work closely with site leadership and customers to address reporting, updates, and equipment reliability issues Support training and guidance for less experienced maintenance staff as needed What You'll Need 3-5 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician, Mechanical Maintenance Technician, or in an industrial maintenance environment Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems Familiarity with PLCs, hand tools, power tools, and maintenance documentation Welding and electrical certifications or licenses required Valid driver's license Associate degree or technical training preferred Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and ability to work independently Physical Requirements Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 75 lbs Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing throughout the shift Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments Ability to work at heights, use ladders, and operate tools/equipment safely Work Environment Industrial/warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, machinery, and varying temperatures Required use of PPE in designated areas May require occasional overtime or on-call support PLA and its Family of Companies is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
