Job Description
Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our dietary supplement manufacturing team. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production, packaging, and facility equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing maintenance, preferably within food, dietary supplement, pharmaceutical, or related GMP-regulated environments. Essential Responsibilities Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and packaging equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues. Repair and maintain mixers, encapsulation equipment, filling lines, conveyors, labelers, bottling equipment, and other manufacturing machinery. Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime. Install, test, and commission new equipment and facility systems. Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and spare parts inventory. Conduct routine inspections of equipment, utilities, and facility infrastructure. Ensure compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), FDA regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis investigations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Preferred Experience in dietary supplement, food, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing. Knowledge of cGMP, FDA, OSHA, and food safety requirements. HVAC, refrigeration, boiler, or compressed air system experience. Technical certification, trade school training, or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, or related field. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working around manufacturing equipment, noise, and varying temperatures.
