Job Description

The Village of Tinley Park's Pubic Works Department is now seeking responsible, enthusiastic individual(s) to work in the Facilities Division as a Seasonal Maintenance employee during the 2026 summer season. This position will assist full-time staff by providing general maintenance to support the department operations for facilities maintenance operations. Duties include but are not limited to painting, assist with minor repairs to Village buildings and infrastructure, performing routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment and tools, and manual labor involved in construction and maintenance projects assigned to the Division. In addition, this position will perform general work in support of special events to include, but not limited to, installing road barricades, setting posts, and cleaning public right-of-ways and property post-events, and other. High school diploma is required. A valid Class 'D' Drivers License is required. Previous maintenance, construction, or other related experience is preferred. Ability to perform tasks requiring physical strength and endurance is required. Skill in the use of hand tools and in the operation of gasoline and electric powered equipment is also preferred. Must have the ability to work on and complete daily tasks independently or as part of a crew as directed. Great opportunity for college students looking to gain valuable experience in municipal operations and/or related construction or general maintenance fields. This is a summer seasonal position scheduled to work 40 hours per week Monday through Friday from 7:00AM to 3:30PM for approximately 10-12 weeks from mid-May through mid-August.
