Maintenance Technician Location:
Pontiac, IL 61764 Job Description The Maintenance Technician will work under the supervision of the Property Manager and is responsible for assisting with the repair, maintenance, safety, and appearance of all buildings, properties, and equipment owned or managed by Futures Unlimited, Inc. This position supports the overall maintenance and security of the agency's facilities, including Prairie Horizons and residential sites. The Maintenance Technician will also work alongside consumers within the department to ensure tasks are completed correctly, safely, and efficiently. Essential Functions Assist with the repair, maintenance, and upkeep of buildings, properties, and equipment. Follow all safety procedures and implement safety measures as directed by the Safety Officer and Safety Committee. Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Technician supervisor and consumers to complete assigned tasks. Help maintain accurate maintenance records as required. Support the daily opening and closing (security) of the physical plant as needed. Assist with plant layout and fabrication of production aids when requested. Help with delivery, shipping, and receiving functions as requested. Attend required meetings and participate in agency staff meetings. Complete 40 hours of annual job-related training. Perform other duties as assigned by the Property Manager or Director of Business Operations. Other Responsibilities Represent the agency professionally when interacting with customers, adhering to the Agency Code of Professional Conduct. Assist with documentation and incident reports as needed. Support the Property & Equipment Maintenance Manager with additional tasks as required. Work Environment The work environment involves exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and environmental temperature extremes. The employee may encounter potentially violent behavioral situations, various bodily fluids, and infectious agents. Noise levels can be loud at job sites. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Physical Demands The position requires regular talking, smelling, and hearing. Frequent walking and use of hands are necessary. Occasional standing, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching is required. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two (2) years of janitorial and/or equipment maintenance experience preferred. Ability to demonstrate safe working methods. Must pass all pre-employment screenings.
