Are you a dependable maintenance professional who takes pride in creating safe, comfortable places for residents to call home? We're seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our team at Orton Keyes, our 175-unit affordable housing community in Rockford, IL. If you're hands-on, resourceful, and enjoy making a difference through the work you do, we'd love to hear from you!
What You'll Be Doing:
Complete daily maintenance and repairs for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliances. Maintain exterior of the property along with tackling seasonal prep such as fall cleanup or snow removal. Perform daily property walks to keep everything clean, safe, and looking sharp. Respond promptly to routine and emergency maintenance requests when assigned. Prepare vacant apartments for new residents using make-ready checklists. Inspect buildings and grounds to maintain safety, cleanliness, and curb appeal. Maintain common areas, exterior spaces, and grounds. Communicate with vendors and contractors.
What You'll Bring:
Minimum of two years of previous experience in property management maintenance, building maintenance, or related trade. Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, basic HVAC, and appliance repair. Reliable form of transportation to get to work each day. Valid driver's license and ability to meet insurability requirements. Ability to participate in the on-call emergency rotation schedule. Strong customer service skills with a resident-first mindset. High school diploma or equivalent required.
HVAC-EPA
(Type II), or EPA Universal preferred.
