Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance, repair, and appearance of the hotel, with a strong focus on renovations, preventative maintenance, and property improvement projects. This role supports hotel operations by ensuring guestrooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas are maintained to brand standards. Located near shopping, dining, and local businesses in St. Charles, the Fairfield Inn & Suites offers a team-oriented environment with opportunities to contribute to ongoing hotel improvements and renovations. The ideal candidate is dependable, hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in renovation work including painting, drywall, flooring, carpentry, and room refresh projects. Essential Responsibilities Maintenance & Repairs Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and team members Maintain guestrooms and public spaces to company and brand standards Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner Renovation & Project Support Assist with guestroom renovations and property improvement projects Perform painting, drywall repair, carpentry, flooring installation, caulking, and fixture replacement Support room refresh initiatives and FF&E installations Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed Maintain clean and safe work areas during projects Preventative Maintenance & Safety Conduct routine inspections of hotel equipment and building systems Maintain preventative maintenance logs and schedules Follow OSHA and hotel safety standards Assist with emergency maintenance situations when needed Qualifications Previous hotel maintenance experience preferred Renovation or construction experience strongly preferred Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and carpentry Ability to safely operate hand and power tools Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed High school diploma or equivalent preferred Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions Ability to complete physically active work throughout the shift
