Job Title:
Maintenance Technician 1st shift Job Description The Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, and repairs production machinery and equipment in a demanding industrial environment. This role combines hands-on mechanical work, troubleshooting, and fabrication to keep equipment running safely and efficiently while supporting continuous production operations. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair a wide range of production machinery and equipment. Operate hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively. Troubleshoot mechanical failures and pneumatic systems to identify root causes and implement repairs. Repair, rebuild, and maintain mechanical drive systems, including V-belt and chain drive systems. Install material handling and related mechanical systems as needed. Perform basic welding, layout, and fabrication tasks to support equipment repair and modification. Diagnose and repair issues involving 480-volt, 3-phase motor circuits in accordance with safety standards. Apply hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge to maintain and repair related systems. Essential Skills Hands-on experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial or production environment. Proficiency in installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment. Ability to operate hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools safely. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills, including experience with mechanical drive systems. Experience working with V-belt and chain drive systems. Basic welding, layout, and fabrication skills. Experience with 480-volt, 3-phase motor circuits. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems (with the ability to apply this knowledge in troubleshooting and repair). Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company safety procedures with a goal of zero injuries. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a production or milling environment is beneficial. Comfort working in environments with airborne dust and elevated noise levels. Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain a positive and respectful attitude. Adaptability to changing priorities and production demands. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a full-time, first-shift role, typically scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime as needed through additional hours in a day or additional days in the week. Work takes place in a non-air-conditioned production facility, including a flour milling environment with airborne flour that creates a dusty, dirty feel. Temperatures can be hot or cold depending on the season, and work may occur both indoors and outdoors. Noise levels may reach or exceed 85 decibels, requiring hearing protection for most of the shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beech Grove, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
