Job Description
Maintenance Technician VALiNTRY is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to support operations within a chemical manufacturing environment. This hands-on position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and pneumatic systems, performing preventive and predictive maintenance, and supporting equipment installations and facility improvement projects. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced industrial setting. This position operates within a chemical manufacturing facility and requires the daily use of respiratory protection and other required personal protective equipment (PPE). Compensation Starting at $38.00/hour for 1st Shift , plus comprehensive benefits and substantial overtime opportunities paid at time-and-a-half. An additional shift differential is offered for employees assigned to 2nd and 3rd Shift. Higher compensation may be considered for candidates with exceptional industrial maintenance experience, specialized certifications, advanced troubleshooting expertise, or other highly relevant technical skills. Available Shifts We currently have 3 openings available: 1 opening on 1st shift 1 opening on 2nd shift 1 opening on 3rd shift Candidates must be available to work the assigned shift and be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergency maintenance situations as required. Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Troubleshooting Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on production equipment, utility systems, and facility assets. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and pneumatic equipment including motors, pumps, blowers, mills, conveyors, and other rotating machinery. Execute work orders including inspections, lubrication, cleaning, calibration, filter changes, and equipment repairs. Partner with production personnel to quickly diagnose and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime. Support equipment installations, production line modifications, and capital improvement projects. Equipment & Utilities Support Perform daily inspections and maintenance of utility systems including chillers, boilers, air compressors, pumps, and reverse osmosis (RO) units. Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, gauges, calipers, dial indicators, and vibration analysis equipment to evaluate equipment performance. Operate basic fabrication and repair equipment including welders, grinders, saws, drill presses, and other shop tools. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe maintenance shop and work area. Safety & Compliance Follow all company safety procedures, including PPE requirements, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, and other applicable safety protocols. Maintain compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements. Complete maintenance documentation, inspections, and work orders accurately and timely. Promote a safe working environment and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Tools & Equipment Used Standard shop and hand tools Drill presses, saws, grinders, and welding equipment Diagnostic and testing equipment including multimeters, computers, gauges, and vibration analyzers Forklifts, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts Required PPE in accordance with company safety policies Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated troubleshooting skills. Experience maintaining and repairing mechanical and pneumatic systems. Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documentation. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Dependable attendance record and commitment to workplace safety. Reliable transportation to and from work. Must be medically qualified and able to pass respirator fit testing. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field. Experience working in chemical, process manufacturing, food processing, or other industrial environments. Welding and fabrication experience. Experience with utility systems including boilers, chillers, compressed air systems, and water treatment equipment. Experience with predictive maintenance technologies and vibration analysis. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and chemicals. Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and access confined spaces. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Daily use of respiratory protection is required. To maintain an effective respirator seal, employees must be clean-shaven in areas where the respirator contacts the face. Facial hair that interferes with the respirator seal is not permitted. Ability to wear all required PPE, including respirators, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and chemical-resistant clothing. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift.
