Maintenance Supervisor Job Summary:
Maintenance Technician is a critical role responsible for troubleshooting, and maintaining extrusion equipment and related machinery to ensure efficient production processes. This individual will serve as a technical expert on shift, overseeing production activities, performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing, and repairing equipment issues, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with extrusion manufacturing processes and mechanical/electrical maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance on extrusion lines, automated saws, control systems, cooling systems, and material handling equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system issues to minimize downtime. Work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to execute equipment repairs and upgrades. Maintain detailed maintenance logs and work order records.
Leadership & Team Collaboration:
Train and mentor operators on equipment operation, troubleshooting, and best practices. Act as the primary point of contact for production and maintenance issues on shift. Collaborate with production supervisors and maintenance teams to improve processes. Ensure compliance with company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety regulations.
Safety & Compliance:
Follow and enforce safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, and machine guarding procedures. Identify and report potential hazards and actively contribute to a safe work environment. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and product quality.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required:
3+ years of experience in an manufacturing environment, with strong operational and mechanical aptitude. Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems . Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and ability to diagnose basic electrical faults. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and maintenance manuals. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and work in a manufacturing environment (standing, walking, bending). Basic proficiency with computer systems for documentation and reporting.
Preferred:
Experience with extrusion lines, automated saws, material handling systems, and process cooling equipment . Background in preventative maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives . Leadership experience in manufacturing environment. OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
Work Schedule & Compensation:
Second Shift:
5x8 schedule or alternating 3x12/4x12 schedule (12-hour shifts). Overtime may be required based on production needs. Competitive pay based on experience, plus shift differentials (if applicable).
