Maintenance Technician

Job Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on thermoforming equipment, with a primary focus on thermoforming ovens, as well as supporting general facility, building, and grounds maintenance. This role helps ensure safe, reliable operation of equipment and minimal downtime in a thermo/vacuum formed plastics manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, working electrical knowledge, and exposure to PLCs is considered a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment & Manufacturing Maintenance Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on thermoforming ovens, heaters, and related equipment Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues on thermoforming and auxiliary machinery Respond to equipment breakdowns and production support needs in a timely manner Conduct routine inspections and document maintenance activities Assist with equipment installation, relocation, and improvements Partner with production teams to identify root causes and improve equipment reliability Electrical & Technical Work Perform basic to intermediate electrical troubleshooting and repair (motors, heaters, wiring, sensors, relays, contactors) Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation Follow lockout/tagout and all applicable electrical safety procedures Exposure to PLCs for basic troubleshooting or monitoring is a plus, but PLC programming is not required Building & Grounds Maintenance Perform general facility maintenance including lighting, doors, minor plumbing, and building repairs Support grounds maintenance such as exterior upkeep and seasonal needs Coordinate with outside contractors when necessary Safety & Compliance Follow all company safety policies and procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Participate in safety training and continuous improvement initiatives Required Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training preferred 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting Experience maintaining thermoforming ovens or similar heated process equipment preferred Strong mechanical aptitude with working electrical knowledge Ability to read manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Basic computer skills for maintenance records and work orders Preferred Qualifications Experience in thermoformed or vacuum-formed plastics manufacturing Familiarity with PLCs for basic diagnostics or troubleshooting Experience with preventive maintenance programs Welding or light fabrication experience

Pay:

$27.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
