Job Description
The Facilities Maintenance Technician at Stevanato Group's Fishers manufacturing site is responsible for the reliable operation, safety, and upkeep of all plant and facility systems. This hands-on role focuses on maintaining critical building infrastructure, utilities, and environmental systems—such as HVAC, boilers, chillers, electrical distribution, compressed air, water, and general building systems—to ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing environment. The role supports uninterrupted plant operations by responding to facility-related issues, performing scheduled preventative maintenance, coordinating external service providers, and ensuring compliance with EHS and regulatory requirements. Working closely with site leadership, Engineering, and the Safety Committee, the position contributes to continuous improvement, energy efficiency, facility upgrades, and safe working conditions across the Fishers site.
Responsibilities:
Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection of facility and plant systems, including: HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, and cooling towers Electrical panels, lighting, receptacles, and building power distribution Compressed air, water, and utility distribution systems Respond to urgent facility issues that impact plant operations, safety, or environmental controls. Execute scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) activities on facility equipment in accordance with established PM plans. Monitor and maintain building systems to ensure temperature, humidity, and utility requirements are met. Support general building maintenance, including restrooms, doors, floors, ceilings, and structural repairs as needed. Coordinate and oversee external vendors and contractors (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, building services). Review contractor quotes and invoices for scope accuracy, safety compliance, and cost effectiveness. Maintain spare parts, tools, and maintenance supply inventory related to facility systems. Maintain accurate records of facility maintenance activities, inspections, work orders, and compliance documentation. Collaborate with Engineering and site leadership on facility improvements, upgrades, and energy‑efficiency initiatives. Partner with the Safety Committee to ensure compliance with EHS, OSHA, and local code requirements. Identify opportunities to improve PM schedules, system reliability, and facility performance. Operate forklifts or lifts when required, following training and safety requirements. Handle and dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with regulatory and company standards. Maintain clean, organized mechanical rooms, utility spaces, and work areas.Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (required); technical or trade training preferred. 1-2 years of experience in facility, building, or plant maintenance, with exposure to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or utility systems. Working knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, or building electrical systems. Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with the ability to use hand and power tools. Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, electrical diagrams, and equipment manuals. Solid troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach. Basic computer skills, including use of CMMS/maintenance software and email. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to work effectively with internal teams and external contractors. Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or on-call hours as required to support facility operations.Pay:
