Job Title:
Maintenance Technician Job Description The Maintenance Technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance on highly automated production equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mechanical, electrical, and robotic systems. This role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding machinery, with exposure to robotics and PLCs in a modern, climate-controlled manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including rebuilding machinery, repairing gearboxes, replacing motors, and repairing cylinders. Inspect, replace, and adjust hydraulic and pneumatic components, including hoses, cylinders, and related hardware. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including 480V circuits, 3-phase motors, sensors, VFDs, drives, and electrical wiring. Use a multimeter and other diagnostic tools to identify electrical faults and verify proper operation of circuits and components. Perform control panel troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues with drives, relays, switches, and control wiring. Troubleshoot and support robotic systems, particularly Fanuc robots, to maintain reliable automated operations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Controls experience with PLC troubleshooting, including ladder logic, parameter edits, relays, timers, and switches, is a strong plus. Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs and related automation hardware is beneficial. Experience working with robotics and automated material handling systems is advantageous. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a large, modern, and highly automated manufacturing plant operating on a 2nd shift schedule from 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with a shift differential provided. The facility is climate controlled, remaining cool in the summer and warm in the winter, and places a strong emphasis on safety in all operations. The plant uses advanced technologies, including extensive robotics for manufacturing and automatic driverless tuggers for moving materials throughout the facility. Team members have access to multiple breakrooms, including a large breakroom offering refrigerated or microwaveable meals, snacks, and a variety of beverages, with water and Gatorade mix available on the production floor. The schedule includes a paid 20-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks, one in each half of the shift. The environment is organized, safety-focused, and designed to support productivity and comfort while working around automated equipment and machinery.
