Golf Course Superintendent About the Role Hidden Valley Golf Club is seeking a dependable, mechanically skilled individual to maintain, repair, and manage our golf course maintenance equipment fleet. This position plays a vital role in keeping daily course operations running efficiently by minimizing equipment downtime through timely repairs, preventative maintenance, and organized shop management. The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping equipment reliable, works independently, communicates well with the maintenance team, and helps create an organized maintenance operation. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair golf course maintenance equipment. Maintain operational readiness of greens mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers, utility vehicles, trim equipment, and other maintenance equipment. Perform reel and bedknife grinding and sharpening. Service small engines, diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components. Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program including oil and filter changes, hydraulic inspections, belt and hose replacement, lubrication schedules, and seasonal servicing. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair history, and service documentation. Manage shop inventory of parts, fluids, filters, and supplies while coordinating purchases with the Superintendent. Identify developing mechanical issues before they impact daily operations. Coordinate repair priorities with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop. Assist staff with equipment setup, adjustments, and training on proper equipment care and operation. Qualifications Experience repairing small engines and diesel equipment. Working knowledge of hydraulic systems. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Welding or fabrication experience is preferred. Experience maintaining golf course equipment is preferred but not required . Candidates with experience in agricultural, landscaping, construction, fleet, or commercial equipment maintenance are encouraged to apply. Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain maintenance records and manage inventory. Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision. Physical Requirements Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment components. Ability to safely operate mechanical tools and shop equipment. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Schedule This is an as-needed position scheduled according to maintenance demands, with hours not to exceed 40 hours per week.
