Job Title:
Facilities Technician Job Description The Facilities Technician supports a CNC job shop by performing a wide variety of utility and maintenance tasks to keep the building, equipment, and production areas safe, clean, and fully operational. This role adapts to the needs of each day, ranging from general repairs and upkeep to assisting on the production line when needed. Responsibilities Perform general drywall and carpentry work, including minor repairs and patching as needed throughout the facility. Complete light HVAC tasks such as changing filters and performing basic upkeep to support a comfortable, climate-controlled environment. Handle basic plumbing tasks, including unclogging toilets and drains and addressing minor plumbing issues. Manage trash duties, including collecting, transporting, and disposing of waste to maintain a clean and orderly facility. Shovel sidewalks and perform light outdoor upkeep to ensure safe and clear walkways around the building. Assist on the production line when necessary to support ongoing CNC machining operations and maintain workflow. Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, while performing daily tasks. Lift and move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds as part of routine maintenance and facility support activities. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, home repair, or a closely related hands-on repair role. Practical experience with drywall and basic carpentry tasks. Basic plumbing skills, including the ability to unclog toilets and drains and perform minor repairs. Experience with light HVAC maintenance, such as changing filters and performing simple preventive tasks. General facilities maintenance experience in an industrial, commercial, or similar environment. Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds as part of daily work. Ability to perform painting and touch-up work to maintain a clean, professional facility appearance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience working in a CNC machining or machine shop environment. Familiarity with supporting production operations in an industrial setting. Comfort working in a structured first-shift schedule in a manufacturing facility. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a smaller CNC machine shop that produces parts for the aerospace industry. The facility is clean, well-lit, and climate-controlled, providing a comfortable and orderly work setting. This is a first-shift position, working from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work involves moving around the facility, performing indoor maintenance tasks, and occasionally working outdoors to shovel sidewalks or maintain exterior areas. The primary personal protective equipment requirement is the use of safety glasses while on the shop floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mishawaka, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
