Job Description The Maintenance Technician 'C' supports the Facility and Maintenance team by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on facility equipment, building systems, and industrial machinery. This role ensures systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with established safety standards. The technician will also assist with equipment installations, respond to maintenance requests, and collaborate with team members to maintain a safe and reliable campus environment. Key Responsibilities Preventive Maintenance Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on facility equipment, machinery, and building systems. Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and maintain operational reliability. Ensure all maintenance activities meet safety and operational standards. Troubleshooting and Repairs Diagnose and troubleshoot issues involving mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems. Execute repairs on industrial equipment and building infrastructure. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and equipment failures. Equipment Installation and Modifications Install new equipment and systems as required. Assist in modifying or upgrading existing equipment to improve performance and reliability. Safety and Compliance Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment and work areas. Ensure all work follows established safety procedures and compliance standards. Documentation and Inventory Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and service documentation. Monitor inventory levels for maintenance supplies, tools, and replacement parts. Team Collaboration and Work Environment Collaborate with maintenance staff and other departments to complete projects efficiently. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Qualifications Must have experience with the following Preventive Maintenance Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical Background Controls, Pneumatics, Electronics Must possess the following special knowledge, abilities or skills Building HVAC systems, controls and associated equipment knowledge Pneumatic/electronic controls, electrical equipment and mechanical equipment operation troubleshooting and repair Computer literacy to allow for interface with Work Order Systems Strong interpersonal and communications skills both written and verbal Ability to read and understand drawings and schematics Additional Information Starting at: $23.02/Hour Commensurate with Experience The University of Notre Dame seeks to attract, develop, and retain the highest quality faculty, staff and administration.
