  • Street Department Warsaw, Indiana | Full-Time Help Keep Warsaw Moving Safely The City of Warsaw is seeking a skilled, safety-focused Traffic Sign/Pavement Marking Technician to join our Street Department team.

As a Traffic Signal Technician, you'll play a vital role in maintaining and improving the city's traffic signals, street lighting systems, and roadway signage. From troubleshooting signal systems to fabricating signs and supporting emergency response operations, you'll help ensure that residents and visitors travel safely throughout Warsaw. What You'll Do Install, inspect, maintain, and repair traffic signal systems and control equipment Fabricate and install roadway, directional, and informational signage Maintain streetlights, signal heads, poles, and related infrastructure Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues in the field Operate specialized equipment including bucket trucks, aerial lifts, striping equipment, and snowplows Support roadway marking, curb painting, and traffic control operations Monitor inventory of signal and sign materials, equipment, and supplies Provide leadership and safety oversight for assigned crew members Assist with vegetation management to maintain sign visibility Participate in emergency response efforts and snow removal operations Perform equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, and related field duties What We're Looking For Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Valid Indiana Driver's License with a clean driving record Ability to work safely around traffic, electrical systems, and heavy equipment Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Ability to read technical drawings, plans, maps, and safety regulations Excellent communication and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Certification (or ability to obtain) CDL License Experience with traffic signal systems, roadway signage, or electrical maintenance Experience operating heavy equipment, aerial lifts, dump trucks, and snowplows Knowledge of MUTCD and INDOT traffic control standards Why Join the City of Warsaw?
