Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated maintenance technician to perform general maintenance tasks. This role also includes some grounds work and cleaning. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable navigating a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Responsibilities:
Handling basic repairs Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary Patching drywall and painting apartments Basic plumbing and electrical skills General HVAC knowledge Completing work orders Landscaping/grounds as needed Responsibilities may include: Transport, install and connect stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, and other electrical and gas appliances Load and unload trucks and other conveyances; move supplies and materials to the proper location by wheelbarrows; collect refuse and salvageable materials Transport equipment, furnishings, and appliances to job sites Repair and fabricate window and door screens and frames Remove and repair damaged drywall Operate power blowers or use shovels to clean sidewalks, and driveways of leaves and debris Position requirements: Knowledge of basic maintenance required Understand, read and write to follow basic instructions, take direction from supervisors, respond to routine questions and communicate effectively with tenants and property managersTravel:
As part of the job responsibilities, this position requires the willingness and ability to conduct local travel as needed. This may involve running errands related to business operations and fulfilling various tasks that contribute to the smooth functioning of the property needs. The extent and frequency of travel will depend on the specific demands of the job and may vary over time.Physical requirements:
Prolonged periods standing and walking Must be able to lift 50 pounds Must be able to traverse a variety of properties with stairs and in a variety of weather Must be dependable and able to meet scheduling requirements Professional appearance and demeanor, required Other requirements: Pass a criminal background check Have reliable transportation Schedule requirements: 30-32 hours a week. Must have your own hand tools. This job opening is for Augusta, Kansas and Arkansas City, Kansas. Applicant must be willing to travel to both properties.Pay:
