Job Description
Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Hotel Maintenance Engineer to ensure the seamless operation and upkeep of our hotel facilities. This vital role involves maintaining and repairing a wide range of building systems, mechanical equipment, and interior features to provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests and staff alike. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding service through efficient maintenance practices. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and mechanical systems to ensure optimal operation. Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment using schematics, hand tools, electrical work techniques, and testing devices such as ohmmeters. Conduct plumbing system maintenance and repairs, including pipe repairs, fixture replacements, and leak detection. Maintain building interior features through carpentry, painting (including residential painting), and facilities maintenance tasks. Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automated systems management and oversee HVAC system repairs to ensure climate control efficiency. Supervise or assist with welding projects and other specialized repairs requiring mechanical knowledge or welding skills. Use schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately; maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities. Lead or support team members in supervising maintenance operations, ensuring safety standards are met while delivering exceptional customer service. Requirements Proven experience in facilities equipment maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO), with strong electrical experience and mechanical knowledge. Skilled in plumbing system maintenance and repair; familiar with plumbing codes and safety protocols. Proficiency with hand tools, electrical equipment repair, carpentry, painting (including residential), welding, and HVAC system repair. Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and building interior plans effectively. Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and HVAC systems is highly desirable. Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or team-leading experience preferred. Excellent communication skills in English; capable of providing clear instructions and customer service when interacting with guests or staff. Knowledge of safety standards related to electrical work, plumbing, HVAC systems, and general facilities maintenance; ability to operate testing devices such as ohmmeters accurately.
