A Sr. Maintenance Technician is a fully trained technician that independently maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs all production and ancillary equipment in the factory. This person trains and develops the skills of Maintenance Technician personnel. This position will support production operations by Coordinating breakdowns and technicians during the shift and other activities described in the Maintenance Technician description. Also, the following additional skills and responsibilities are required: Fully qualified on all equipment in assigned area of responsibility to include operation, troubleshooting, and repair. Independently conduct large scope project work and/or lead PM Pillar projects. Supports the Engineering Department in equipment installations. Plans and performs a variety of production related duties requiring an expert degree of troubleshooting knowledge and skill. Responsibilities Functions as the technical expert/leader for the technical team on shift. Night Shift Point of Contact Manage Priorities across the site Leader in communicating with technical associates and management. Ensure/reinforce compliance to site policies with technical team members…safety/GMPs…safe work practices Higher level electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair. Oversee the coordination of Planned Stops across the site. Owns assignment of maintenance resources to execute planned stops, Breakdown process, including execution of corrective action across all relevant lines. Ensure FMOS escalations are being adhered to Plan and conduct PM's and WO's independently. Support Operations by training technicians and operators in AM and PM activities. Breakdown elimination owner for night shift. Ensure adherence to PM pillar practices - stockroom/parts procedures, execution of planned work, etc. Drives results in Planned and Unplanned Downtime, and owns: Maintenance Repair costs for line % Planned Maintenance and PM compliance. Use higher level MSE tools. Good understanding and application of knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and maintains, updates, and teaches application to Maintenance Technicians. Represent team in the daily shift handover meetings. Participates in the development and owns portions of the Technical 90-Day loss-elimination plans. Use PLC to troubleshoot and calibrate electrical components, including identifying faulty equipment for all assigned equipment. Higher level of troubleshooting skills for hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drive systems for assigned equipment. Recognized as having a special skill in either: Fabrication, Welding, Electrical, Machinist, or Team Leader identified skill set. 5S of Technical Areas, Coach and Train technicians on 5S standards Minimum Requirements Possess a fundamental understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings in order to solve problems in a timely manner. Ability to troubleshoot ac/dc electrical components including motor starters, switches and sensors found on all assigned equipment using basic test equipment such as multi-meters and amp probes. Ability to troubleshoot basic pneumatic and mechanical drive systems at the component level on all assigned equipment, i.e., sorting systems and palletizing robots. Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to support production needs and to conduct multi-task work in a very fast paced work environment. Willingness to develop required technical skills in welding, basic machinist, and fabrication/layout skill sets.

Preferred:

Possess an advanced understanding of ac/dc electrical (up to 480-volt 3 phase), hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings in order to solve problems in a timely manner. Possess PLC/ Instrumentation troubleshooting skills.

Physical Requirements:

Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs.). Frequent pushing/pulling (50-200 lbs.). Frequent handling/gripping/bending/stooping. Ability to work at elevated heights off a ladder or platform, climb stairs, leaning over equipment. Ability to stand and / or work on feet for extended periods (minimum eight hours in one shift).

Education Professional Qualification Minimum:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

Associate degree in a technical discipline, preferably in Industrial Maintenance/Technology. Knowledge and Experience Technical degree/trade certification or 4 years or equivalent manufacturing technician experience required.
