Job Summary The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining large industrial textile processing equipment, as well as facility maintenance. Tasks include start-up and shut-down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, maintaining and operating boilers, welding and cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and other systems. Responsibilities Assist the Maintenance Manager with all plant maintenance operations, ensuring that plant premises and equipment are kept in safe and clean condition. Help build a maintenance program that optimizes the plant's uptime, considers costs, and satisfies all industry regulations and OSHA guidelines. Complete preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild equipment, and document the work done without direct supervision. Monitor equipment to ensure it is kept in good working order, working closely with management to repair or replace equipment as needed. Monitor boilers and associated equipment for proper operation. Assist outside contractors with repairing and installing machinery. Apply general plumbing and HVAC skills to maintain equipment and facility. Comply with company policies and procedures at all times. Maintain a neat and clean working area throughout the day. Operate forklift to unload and load trucks. Read and interpret electric diagrams. Perform other duties as assigned, as required by scope of work or customer needs. Qualifications/Requirements Minimum 3 years of experience is required. Punctuality and reliability are a must. Honesty and exceptional work ethic. Ability to solve problems independently. High School diploma/GED equivalent required. Must be 18 years of age or older. Desired Skills/Physical Demands Continual standing and walking during shift. Continual reaching with hands/fingers/arms during shift. Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, and crouching during shift. Must be able to occasionally lift over 80 pounds. Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals.
