Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift) Job Description This role supports plant operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing all facilities and manufacturing equipment. The maintenance technician identifies, diagnoses, and resolves mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues to keep production equipment running safely and efficiently. The position also performs scheduled preventive maintenance and accurately documents all work in an electronic system. Responsibilities Support daily plant operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing facilities and manufacturing equipment. Identify, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and simple electrical problems on plant facilities and production equipment. Perform preventive maintenance according to defined intervals and schedules in a timely and thorough manner. Document maintenance concerns, repairs, and resolutions in an electronic database with clear and accurate records. Develop and update action plans to address recurring issues and provide status reports as needed. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to support effective troubleshooting and repair. Ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently by inspecting components such as valves, pipe fittings, bearings, motors, and gearboxes. Collaborate with operations and other maintenance team members to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement. Follow established safety procedures and maintenance best practices while working on industrial equipment. Essential Skills 1-3 years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment, or an associate's degree in a technical discipline as a substitute for work experience. Hands-on experience with mechanical maintenance in an industrial setting. Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and simple electrical problems. Functional knowledge of mechanical components such as valves, pipe fittings, bearings, motors, and gearboxes. Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial and production equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation. Proficiency in documenting maintenance activities and resolutions in an electronic database. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose equipment issues efficiently. Commitment to working safely around industrial machinery and equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate's degree in a technical discipline, which may substitute for 1-3 years of industrial maintenance experience. Experience with industrial maintenance in a manufacturing or healthcare-related facility. Exposure to hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance in a production environment. Familiarity with structured preventive maintenance programs and maintenance planning. Ability to communicate clearly with operations and maintenance teams regarding equipment status and needs. Work Environment This is a 2nd shift position with a typical schedule of Monday through Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., with some flexibility on hours as needed. The facility is climate controlled and operates in a healthcare-related environment, which means it is very clean and well-maintained. The role involves working around industrial and production equipment, using tools and technologies related to mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
