Job Description:
The Facility Technician performs a variety of routine and skilled tasks involving general maintenance of Good Day Farm's facilities, equipment, and grounds. Wide range of facilities services tasks including/ but not limited to non-technical maintenance of plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating, and/or air conditioning facilities and equipment, at a level not requiring formal licensure. May be required to perform tasks of other unlicensed trades, such as a light equipment operator, carpenter, painter, and/or locksmith.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Makes routine plumbing repairs, replaces lighting, and makes electrical related repairs. Performs preventive maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Works independently on routine recurring assignments or assists another worker in performing more complex tasks. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with fellow employees. Learns and performs assigned tasks quickly and correctly through on-the-job training and learns safety regulations and practices safety precautions. Reads and interprets blueprints, machine manuals, and schematic drawings to assist in making plumbing and electrical repairs. Comprehends written materials. Uses Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety procedures, and appropriate equipment in completing assignments. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 years' experience with mechanical responsibilities
Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required Post-secondary trade or vocational school preferred; equivalent experience considered in lieu of formal education preferred
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. The ability to respond quickly to sounds. The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations. The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day. The ability to sit or stand for up to 12 hours at a time. The ability to work in bright/hot/humid conditions. The ability to work in low light situations.
