Job Description

The Housing Authority of the City of Sulphur aims to provide quality, affordable housing and related services to low-income individuals and families within the community, fostering safe, sustainable, and inclusive neighborhoods. About this position The Trades Apprentice is a valuable part of the Sulphur Housing Authority because of their function of work assisting the maintenance repairman in vacant unit turnover, performing a wide variety of unit maintenance and repair tasks with assistance. The Trades Apprentice provides an opportunity to learn the skills required for the Maintenance Repairer 1 position. This is an entry-level position. No experience or training is required. Job Duties:
Assist Maintenance Repairers 1 or 2 in the following: Clean out units, including hauling furniture, and wipe all counters and cabinets Scrub appliances & fixtures, repair/replace if needed Repair sheetrock where damaged Repair/Install doors, windows & floor tiles where needed Install light fixtures & outlets if needed Painting units

Work Schedule:
Work hours are Monday - Thursday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm, Friday Off. On-call status every other weekend for emergency work orders.
Compensation:
