Overhead Door Technician

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Overhead Door Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining overhead doors and related hardware across various construction and commercial sites. Your expertise will ensure that doors operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently, contributing to the safety and functionality of our clients' facilities. Duties Install, repair, and maintain a wide range of overhead doors, including sectional, rolling steel, and specialty doors using hand tools and power tools. Perform glass installation on doors or related fixtures with precision and care. Conduct welding and fabrication tasks to modify or create custom door components as needed. Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute installation and repair projects. Utilize construction skills such as framing, carpentry, metal stud framing, trim carpentry, and fixture installation to support door setup. Handle heavy lifting safely while transporting materials or equipment on-site. Execute door hanging, locksmithing tasks, caulking, and electrical work where applicable to ensure comprehensive service delivery. Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues effectively on-site. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, disposing of debris properly, and adhering to safety standards. Collaborate with team members on remodeling projects or site-specific modifications requiring metal fabrication or electrical experience. Requirements Proven experience with glass installation, welding, hand tools, power tools, and construction site work. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in fabrication, carpentry (including trim carpentry), framing, locksmithing, electrical work, and fixture installation. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting regularly while maintaining safety standards. Experience with door hanging techniques and metal stud framing preferred. Knowledge of schematics for troubleshooting electrical or mechanical issues on overhead doors. Prior construction or remodeling experience is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to safety and quality assurance. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is preferred for travel between job sites. Pay:

$24.78 - $34.00 per hour
