Job Description:
Emergency Medical Services, Adjunct Instructor Pool | Openings expected for Summer 2026 Adjunct positions are "Open Pool" for Summer 2026. There may or may not be available openings at this time, however, when an opening does occur, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants we have on file on an as needed basis.
SALARY RANGE
Starting lecture salary is $57.49 per hour. Starting lab salary is $49.82 per hour.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Responsible for teaching and evaluating psychomotor skills and assisting with the delivery of didactic education that meet or exceed National Department of Transportation Paramedic Curriculum standards and MA Office of Emergency Medical Services Accreditation requirements.
Requirements:
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with a variety of adult learners who are gaining specialty skills in Emergency Medical Services. Currently certified MA EMT-Paramedic with ability to maintain certification. Minimum work history of two (2) years of patient-care at the Paramedic level. Currently certified in CPR and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Holds a Massachusetts driver's license. Must hold at least one of the following instructor qualifications: ACLS Instructor, PALS Instructor, PEPP Instructor, CPR instructor, PHTLS Instructor, MA Instructor/Coordinator, MFA Firefighter Instructor, or other equivalent instructor credentials. If you do not meet all listed qualifications but believe your experience, education, or training provides an equivalent foundation for success in the role, we strongly encourage you to include an equivalency statement in your application. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
History of patient-care experience in a variety of settings. Demonstrated ability to teach and evaluate psychomotor skills. Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) and PALS certifications. Knowledge of MA state protocols and EMS-related legislation. Global awareness of EMS issues and trends. Understands adult learning domains, factors affecting individual learning rates, and critical thinking skills. Familiarity with Advanced Life Support examination process. A demonstrated commitment to promoting domestic diversity and/or global multiculturalism in the curriculum where appropriate.
BACKGROUND CHECK
: Finalist candidates who are otherwise qualified for the position will be required to complete a Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check as a condition of employment in accordance with GCC's CORI policy .
