A Building and General Maintenance Technician performs building maintenance and appliance repairs for an apartment complex, housing division, residential center or business, as directed by a property manager.

Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, refrigeration units, kitchen equipment, and other mechanical systems to ensure reliable operation. Diagnose and repair appliances, HVAC & appliance technology issues, including air conditioning units and refrigeration systems. Install, troubleshoot, and maintain various mechanical equipment and appliances following schematics and technical manuals. Operate company vehicles responsibly for on-site repairs or equipment deliveries as needed. Utilize mechanical knowledge to repair or replace faulty components in complex systems while adhering to safety standards. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used for accountability and future reference. Support construction projects or facility upgrades by providing technical expertise in mechanical systems repair. Assist with inventory management of maintenance supplies and tools to ensure readiness for ongoing operations. Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for process improvements in maintenance procedures. Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal or external client requests promptly and professionally. Experience Proven experience as a service technician or maintenance technician with a focus on appliance repair, HVAC/R systems, or mechanical systems repair. Demonstrated ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and mechanical diagrams effectively. Strong background in HVAC system repair, refrigeration technology, kitchen equipment maintenance, and appliance installation. Knowledge of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) practices within commercial or industrial environments. Construction experience or familiarity with building infrastructure is advantageous. Leadership qualities that enable guidance of junior team members or apprentices when necessary. Valid driver's license with experience operating company vehicles safely. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with effective communication abilities. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced settings while maintaining attention to detail.
