Job Description

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC PEABODY HOUSING AUTHORITY
Resumes may be submitted to the Peabody Housing Authority office located at 75 Central Street. Peabody, MA O1960 to the attention of Executive Director, Eric Cronin. Applications in lieu of a resume may be picked up at the office, completed and returned. Resumes and applications may also be emailed to ecronin@peabodyhousing.org. Resumes and applications will be received until position is filled. The Peabody Housing Authority is accepting applications for a full-time. 40 hour per week, maintenance mechanic. Applicants must be able to perform a wide range of exterior/interior maintenance of property, including minor electrical, carpentry, painting, plumbing, grounds maintenance, snow and ice duties and custodial duties. Preference will be afforded to candidates with working knowledge of Plumbing, HVAC and/or Electrical. Must have experience using power and hand tools, be able to climb ladders and lift moderate to heavy items. Applicants must be available to provide on-call nights and weekend coverage for maintenance emergencies on a rotating basis. Applicants must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate and be in good general health, possess a valid Massachusetts drivers license, and satisfactorily pass a wellness physical (including drug/alcohol screening). Applicants must pass a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) screening prior to employment. Salary is based on the PHA Division of Labor and Industries rate Tier 1 (currently $36.72/hour). Rate will increase to Tier 2 (currently $40.81/hour) after a 6 mouth probationary period or at the Executive Director�??s discretion. This is a 40-hour work week with benefits including: health insurance, dental, life insurance and retirement.
