Job Description

Utility Maintenance Person Opportunity Summary:
Provides a variety of support services to the Service department including maintaining a clean and orderly facility, performing daily and weekly equipment inspections and maintenance checks, conducting incoming vehicle inspections, and running errands such as picking up or delivering vendor products.
Job Duties:
Incoming Vehicle Inspection Daily Equipment Checks Complete and sign all required daily inspection forms.
Checks include:
Forklifts, portable air compressor, steam cleaner, carrier yard horse, gopher truck and shop air compressors Filters — drain, discard, and clean surrounding area, dispose of oil containers. Pump waste oil to outside waste oil tank or waste heater tank Inspect outside waste water system, complete daily evaporator log book Battery packs (x2) — check water level and charge Waste oil heater log Shop Maintenance and Housekeeping Empty trash barrels in shop daily; monitor dumpster levels (trash, wood, metal, filter) and call for pickup when full Inspect shop restrooms
AM and PM:
check and refill orange soap, paper towel dispensers, and toilet paper Steam pit and tear-down rooms each PM — no oil or grease on floors Keep parking lot clean and free of debris; organize, move trucks as necessary Snow removal ice melt application, sidewalks & doorways Replace light bulbs as needed Small equipment and building maintenance repairs. Weekly Duties Steam out and clean pit grate if needed Inspect shop grind wheels and shields Add fuel to carrier yard horse and large forklift Monthly Equipment and Safety Checks Fire extinguishers, Emergency lighting, Training room — inspect and document cleanliness, chain falls, chain slings, and nylon slings, eye wash station, waste oil heater — log running hours

storm drain inspection — check depth, debris, and sheen; record readings on the required form, print, and add to log book Bi-Annual Storm Drain Water Sampling Replace oil absorbent socks in storm drains Collect water samples from storm drains and send them to lab per

Work Experience & Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate would have a minimum of 3-5 years of directly related building or property maintenance experience. Knowledge of general maintenance requirements (documentation, safety, required reporting, regulations, etc.) Strong verbal and written communication skills. Computer and software skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
