In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the hotel's facilities, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and building interiors. Your expertise will help create a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests and staff. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about facilities maintenance and eager to contribute to a high-quality hospitality experience. The rate is based on the level of experience. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all building systems, including HVAC, electrical equipment, plumbing, and mechanical components. Troubleshoot and repair issues related to electrical equipment, plumbing systems, HVAC units, and building interior structures using schematics, hand tools, and specialized diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters. Conduct carpentry tasks to repair or modify structural elements as needed. Maintain facilities equipment by replacing parts, performing electrical work, painting interior surfaces, and conducting maintenance painting projects. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to accurately diagnose problems and execute repairs. Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes during all maintenance activities. Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or guests while maintaining professionalism and positive communication. Lead small teams or assist in training new maintenance staff when required. Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts used, and inspections completed for operational tracking. Qualifications Proven experience in facilities/hotel maintenance with a strong background in electrical work, plumbing, HVAC system repair, welding, carpentry, and general mechanical knowledge. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics is highly desirable. Spanish as a second language is highly desirable. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment safely and effectively. Knowledge of building interior maintenance techniques including painting (residential or commercial), drywall repair, flooring repairs, and general upkeep. Strong understanding of maintenance procedures related to MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) activities within hospitality or residential settings. Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to follow detailed instructions clearly. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to work independently or as part of a team while managing multiple priorities efficiently. Physical ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders or scaffolding, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
