Job Title:
Maintenance Mechanic Job Description This role is ideal for a skilled and dependable Maintenance Mechanic who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and execute repairs on production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance on a variety of manufacturing equipment to ensure reliable and efficient operation. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues on components such as motors, gauges, pumps, conveyor systems, and material handling equipment. Work with some automated equipment, including systems that utilize PLCs and VFDs, to identify and resolve operational issues. Execute timely repairs to minimize production downtime and maintain consistent output. Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential problems and address them before they impact production. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used to maintain accurate maintenance records. Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize work and support continuous operations. Follow safety procedures and guidelines while working with mechanical and automated equipment. Essential Skills Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for mechanical systems, including motors, gauges, pumps, conveyor systems, and material handling equipment. Hands-on experience performing preventive maintenance on production machinery. Ability to work with some automated equipment, including familiarity with PLCs and VFDs. Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with tools and equipment commonly used in industrial maintenance. Ability to work mandatory overtime, including weekends, as required by production needs. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining equipment reliability and safety. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar mechanical maintenance role in a food production setting is preferred. Experience in mechanical maintenance within a fast-paced manufacturing facility. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and production staff. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple maintenance tasks and priorities. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shafter, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
