Job Title:
Maintenance Technician Job Description The Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a variety of manufacturing equipment, including printing presses and CNC machines, while also supporting overall facility maintenance and safety. This role combines hands-on mechanical work with facility upkeep, preventative maintenance, and participation in safety and compliance initiatives to ensure smooth and reliable operations across the plant and building. Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment, including printing presses and CNC machines, to minimize downtime and ensure consistent production quality. Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and facility systems, following established schedules and documenting work performed. Conduct root cause analysis on production issues to identify underlying problems and implement long-term corrective actions. Handle facility maintenance tasks, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, doors, and other building infrastructure needs. Complete interior building repairs such as drywall patching, flooring repairs, painting, and fixture replacement to maintain a clean and functional environment. Support building aesthetics by addressing cosmetic repairs and ensuring common areas remain in good condition. Manage vendor relationships and coordinate work with third-party contractors for specialized repairs or projects. Oversee and support external service providers to ensure work quality, safety, and adherence to company standards. Maintain accurate inspection records for fire systems, sprinkler systems, and other safety compliance requirements. Participate actively in safety initiatives and support OSHA compliance by following safety procedures and reporting hazards. Assist with snow removal and exterior maintenance during winter months to keep walkways and access points safe and clear. Respond to maintenance-related calls and issues as needed outside of regular shift hours, including support for urgent facility or equipment concerns. Communicate effectively with production and facility teams to prioritize work orders and minimize impact on operations. Support continuous improvement efforts by suggesting and implementing maintenance-related process improvements. Essential Skills 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, construction, or maintenance environments. Hands-on experience in industrial and facilities maintenance, including both equipment and building systems. Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electromechanical systems. Proficiency in performing preventative maintenance on production equipment and facility systems. Experience maintaining and repairing CNC machines and printing presses or similar industrial equipment. Working knowledge of plumbing systems and basic plumbing repairs. Experience with HVAC systems, including basic troubleshooting and maintenance. Ability to perform painting, drywall repair, and general interior maintenance. Experience maintaining and troubleshooting lighting systems within a facility. Familiarity with safety practices and OSHA-related requirements in an industrial setting. Ability to manage and coordinate work with vendors and third-party contractors. Strong documentation skills for maintaining inspection records and maintenance logs. Ability to work a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Willingness to provide limited after-hours support as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in both industrial equipment maintenance and facility upkeep is highly beneficial. Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with production equipment and building systems operating concurrently. Ability to perform minor aesthetic and cosmetic repairs to maintain a professional facility appearance. Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with a close-knit maintenance and operations team. Self-motivated approach with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple work orders. Work Environment This role operates on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The position is based in a manufacturing facility that houses printing presses, CNC machines, and related industrial equipment, along with standard building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting. The environment involves both production floor and facility spaces, with hands-on work on machinery, building infrastructure, and interior areas. There may be a small amount of additional work outside of regular hours, typically no more than a few hours per week, which generally occurs before or after the regular shift and may include being available by phone to address urgent issues or support needs such as snow removal. A company-paid phone is provided to support this limited on-call responsibility. The team is close knit, with many employees having long tenure of 10-12 years, fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. Break schedules offer some flexibility, and employees who take only their two 15-minute breaks may leave early, providing a measure of work-life balance within the structured shift schedule. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Deforest, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $49920.00
