Maintenance Technician Job Description We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing operations through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial equipment. This role is responsible for maintaining mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems while helping ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production. Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems Diagnose issues with motors, sensors, control systems, and related equipment Support industrial wastewater treatment and hazardous waste management processes Maintain facility infrastructure, including lighting, plumbing, and building systems Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation Troubleshoot 3-phase electrical systems and control circuits Follow OSHA, lockout/tagout, and plant safety procedures Document maintenance activities and repair work accurately Partner with production and engineering teams to improve equipment performance Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Qualifications 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Experience with motors, sensors, and control systems Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and troubleshooting Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings Knowledge of OSHA and lockout/tagout procedures Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment Preferred Industrial wastewater treatment experience Hazardous waste compliance experience HVAC maintenance experience Experience using diagnostic and testing equipment Continuous improvement mindset and strong problem-solving skills Why Join Us? Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
