Hollywood, MD This position may be filled at different levels depending on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience. Job Summary The UAS Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of aircraft and related equipment supporting Research & Development (R D) operations. This position performs monitoring, testing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of aircraft systems, support equipment, and associated electrical, mechanical, and sensor integration systems in accordance with company procedures and technical specifications. Duties and Responsibilities Perform unmanned aviation ground handling operations. Conduct UAV launch and recovery operations. Maintain and troubleshoot aircraft systems and subsystems. Perform maintenance and repair of aircraft structures. Respond to and resolve emergency situations as they arise. Ensure company standards and procedures are implemented and followed in daily operations. Maintain equipment used to support aircraft mission activities. Analyze and interpret equipment logs and maintenance records. Diagnose and resolve operational and maintenance issues. Assist with aircraft modifications, testing, and integration activities supporting R D efforts. Perform other duties as necessary and/or required. Basic Requirements High school diploma or GED and 2-5 years of relevant experience. Valid driver's license. Ability to perform routine and preventive maintenance on aircraft systems, subsystems, and ground support equipment. Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting engines, flight controls, avionics, technology systems, and associated components. Knowledge of rigging equipment and safe rigging techniques. Ability to travel up to 50% CONUS and OCONUS. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. May be required to operate vehicles with a manual transmission. Preferred Qualifications Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance. Military aviation maintenance experience. Experience supporting deployed UAS ISR operations. Composite, structural, and mechanical repair experience. Experience supporting aircraft development, testing, or research programs. Physical Requirements Must be able to obtain a DOT physical. Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including: Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and kneeling. Ability to distinguish differences in wire and indicator light colors. Operation of hand and power tools. Lifting, carrying, and/or moving tools, equipment, and components weighing up to 50 pounds. Working in confined spaces and around aircraft. Ascending and descending ladders or stairs as required.
