Locksmith and commercial door installer

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Locksmith and Commercial Door Installer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of security systems, locks, and commercial doors. Your expertise will ensure the safety and security of our clients' facilities by delivering top-notch locksmithing services and seamless door installations. Duties Install, repair, and service various types of locks, including electronic and mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Perform commercial door installations, including frames, hardware, automatic doors, and access control systems. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to security systems such as CCTV cameras, sensors, fire alarms, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and low voltage wiring. Conduct system design assessments to recommend appropriate security solutions tailored to client needs. Use hand tools, power tools, schematics, and remote access software to complete installations efficiently and accurately. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including schematics, service reports, and system configurations. Collaborate with clients to explain system functionalities and provide training on security system operation and maintenance. Requirements Proven experience as a locksmith or security system technician with a strong background in locksmithing and commercial door installation. Knowledge of computer networking, computer hardware, telecommunication systems, and electrical experience related to security systems. Familiarity with surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras, sensors, alarm systems, fire alarms, and IDS technology. Ability to read schematics, construction plans, and technical manuals for system design and troubleshooting purposes. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools (including NEC-compliant power tools), cabling techniques, and fire alarm installation methods. Experience in field service operations with excellent problem-solving skills under pressure. Strong understanding of low voltage wiring standards and security system integration processes. Effective communication skills for client interactions regarding alarm system sales or service explanations. Construction experience is a plus; certification in locksmithing or related fields is preferred but not mandatory. Pay:

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
