This position is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the physical plant department, including performing routine servicing and seasonal repairs.

Primary Responsibilities:

Performs general maintenance duties, such as: fixing wall covers, floor covers and some furniture and fixtures; light plumbing work, minor electrical repair, and appliance repairs. Performs painting and refurbishing projects, as directed by supervisor. Performs routine preventive maintenance, as directed by supervisor. Performs minor building and equipment repairs. Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor. Assists with snow removal efforts during the winter.

Other Duties:

Does routine maintenance on all vehicles when assigned. Maintains all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition. When qualified, assists the Director of Plant and/or performs work on the heating and air conditioning systems, domestic water systems, refrigeration systems, pumps, motors, fans, electrical systems and emergency generators. Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

High school education. Technical schooling and/or background preferred. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. All new hires must be able to pass our preemployment screening process, which includes a fitness for duty physical, criminal background check, drug test and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility.
