Job Description

Woodex Bearing Company, Inc. is a growing, employee-owned company with a long history of stability and security. The Woodex division manufactures wood bearings for screw conveyors, farm equipment, and more. The MECO division engineers and fabricates custom shaft seals for various types of bulk material processing equipment. We are a small company with a big presence in our worldwide markets. Position Summary:
This opening is for Facility Maintenance at our company. This is a full-time, long-term position. The Facility Maintenance position will be responsible for keeping all facilities and equipment operating as intended, documenting maintenance performed, and ordering maintenance supplies and equipment along with assisting with the company's safety program and outside contractor activities. This position will require the applicant to perform several duties within the general scope of their title, as well as beyond that on occasion. The main duties include but are not limited to the following:
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain the company's preventative maintenance (PM) program. Develop preventative maintenance procedures for use by machine operators. Perform and document machinery and equipment maintenance and repairs as needed. Maintain inventory of parts and supplies for machine and facility maintenance and repair. Assist the company's safety program and ensure that safety policies are in place and up to date. Recognize safety issues and concerns and help ensure they are addressed in a timely manner. Conduct accident and incident investigations and compile reports. Perform minor repairs to the exterior and interior of facility buildings. Coordinates with, and directs, third party contractors for significant repairs. Perform yard maintenance tasks (snow removal, lawn care, etc.) as back up to third party contractors.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree from a college or technical school, or an equivalent amount of education and experience. Ability to make well-reasoned decisions, both independently and as part of a team. Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, writing, listening, presenting, etc.) Ability to follow written procedures and meet established deadlines. Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize activities. Ability to solve complex problems. Mechanical knowledge and the ability to solve complex machinery problems (manual mills and lathes, CNC mills and lathes, etc.). Basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical knowledge and skills. Ability to see both the larger picture and detailed steps needed to achieve organizational goals and objectives. Ability to work under pressure without compromising attention to detail. Basic machining knowledge.
