A Building and General Maintenance Technician performs building maintenance and appliance repairs for an apartment complex, housing division, residential center or business, as directed by a property manager.
Monday-Friday, 6AM-4:30PM About the Position We are seeking a dependable Machine Maintenance Technician to join our team at a busy waste and recycling facility. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing industrial machinery and equipment to keep our facility operating safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, enjoys hands-on work, and can quickly diagnose and resolve equipment issues in a fast-paced industrial environment. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on recycling and processing equipment Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment issues Inspect machinery to identify worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components Repair or replace belts, bearings, motors, pumps, chains, rollers, and other machine components Maintain conveyors, compactors, balers, shredders, screens, and other recycling equipment Perform routine lubrication and equipment servicing Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime Complete scheduled preventative maintenance according to facility requirements Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance performed Follow lockout/tagout procedures and all facility safety policies Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area Work closely with equipment operators and management to identify recurring equipment problems Assist with installation, adjustment, and modification of machinery as needed Qualifications Previous experience in industrial, manufacturing, recycling, waste management, or heavy equipment maintenance preferred Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems is a plus Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Welding and fabrication experience is a plus Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, and maintenance instructions Strong attention to safety and detail Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to lift, bend, climb, and work in an industrial environment Willingness to work around dust, noise, heavy machinery, and varying temperatures If you're a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys keeping heavy machinery running and solving mechanical problems, apply today!
